Hello, there are many important files on my Windows 10 computer, and I really need to move them to my USB drive. The problem is that I forgot the password, and now I can't access the desktop and get my files. Can you tell me if there is any way I can crack the password without any software? Thanks!

To crack the Windows 10 password without using any software, you can run certain commands in Command Prompt.

If you don't want to use any software to reset your Windows 10 password, even if it's super easy, there are command lines that can help you with it. Check the steps here to learn how to reset the Windows 10 password without logging in:

Step 1. Restart your PC and press "F11" to enter the Windows RE. (The hotkey may be different on different computers.)

Step 2. Go to "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced options" > "Command Prompt."

Step 3. Enter the commands here one by one:

  • c:
  • cd windows\system32
  • ren sethc.exe sethc.ejm
  • copy cmd.exe sethc.exe

Step 4. Enter wpeutil reboot to restart the computer.

Step 5. Press "Shift" at the log-in interface. Then, input net user username password (replace "username" and "password" with your account name and password) and hit "Enter."
