Steam Local Transfer Slow, How to Fix?

I'm limited to about 30 MB/s; if I resume my normal download and terminate the transfer, I get my typical 60–80 MB/s. Is there a way to fix slow speeds with the Steam local transfer?

Steam local transfers may sometimes appear slower than downloads because they're copying files directly rather than downloading compressed data. Regarding quick game transfer, EaseUS Todo PCTrans Professional can offer a fast game file-sharing feature between two PCs or drives.

Step 1: Install and start EaseUS Todo PCTrans on the source and target devices. Next, choose "Start" from the "File Sharing" menu. This function achieves high transfer rates by utilizing all available network capacity.

Step 2: To create a connection, confirm that both PCs are linked to the same network. Next, choose the target PC's icon, select "Add PC," and enter the other PC's connection code.

Step 3: Drag and drop the Steam games and files you want to relocate. Then, find them in the Receive lists on your target PC.

In addition to turning to the best alternative tool, you can try:

  • Use a wired Ethernet connection instead of Wi-Fi. Ethernet typically provides faster and more stable transfer speeds compared to wireless connections.
  • Check that both systems are idle and not running or downloading other games or updates, as this can slow down transfers.
  • Ensure both systems have up-to-date Steam clients and game files before initiating transfers
