I want to extend my system disk to Windows 2022. The recovery partition is in the way, making the extended volume greyed out. I have to move it to the end of the drive.
Can I move the recovery partition to the end of the drive? Yes, you can. However, due to the Windows system restrictions, the factory settings and system recovery files will become invalid if you move or resize the recovery partition. Actually, you don't have to move or delete the recovery partition before extending other partitions.
EaseUS Partition Master Professional will set you free from Windows Disk Management restrictions, allowing you to extend system partition or C drive) even when there is recovery partition straight behind it. With its "Resize/Move" or "Allocate space" features, users can resize partition with non-adjacent unallocated space or allocate free space from another partition.
Download and launch this disk manager:
Option 1. With Unallocated Space
Option 2. Without Unallocated Space
If you have already backed up the whole system disk to another storage device, you can delete the recovery partition to free up more space and extend other partitions. EaseUS Partition Master is the best choice while Windows won't let you delete the recovery partition:
