When I installed Windows system OS, I created 2 partitions. Volume 1 is a system partition of 100 GB, and Volume 2 is a data partition of 3.6TB. But when the installation finished and I checked Disk Management, it showed 3 partitions (100 GB for the system, 1.9TB, and 1.6TB for RAW partitions). How can I join these 2 RAW partitions into 1 partition?
Take it easy first since it is a common issue among Windows users. This is caused by the limitation of MBR. On an MBR disk, users are not allowed to create a partition larger than 2TB. Hence, you need to convert MBR to GPT and reformat the two partitions. Based on my experience, I recommend you should use a reliable third-party tool to convert MBR to GPT with a clear surface.
EaseUS Partition Master is an all-in-one disk utility that allows you to format/reformat a hard drive and convert a disk from MBR to GPT.
Now, I'm going to list the steps to convert MBR to GPT using EaseUS Partition Master:
Step 1. Launch EaseUS Partition Manager and select "Disk Converter."
Step 2. After choosing "Change MBR to GPT," click "Next."
Step 3. After choosing the destination MBR disk, click "Convert."
Then, you will notice that your disk has been changed into a GPT one. Then, you can format the RAW file system to other file systems you want. Follow the steps below and try:
Step 1. Navigate to the "Disk Manager" and then right-click the first partition and choose "Format."
Step 2. Enter the Partition label, select the target file system, and set the cluster size, then click "OK."
Step 3. Click "Yes" in the warning window appears to continue.
Step 4. Click the "Execute 1 Task" button and click "Apply" to start the process.
You can repeat the process to format the one partition. Hope the process is smooth.
