I have a 16GB SD card, but I found it only shows 30 MB on my Windows computer. And I'm unable to format it in Disk Management. What should I do? Any answers will be appreciated!
There are a few possible reasons why your micro SD card is only showing 30MB instead of its full capacity:
To resolve the Micro SD card only showing 30MB, you can first try insert it into a different card reader to determine the cause of the issue.
Note: Before trying anything below, back up important data to avoid data loss.
If the Window still shows wrong capacity, you can check its status in Disk Management.
Step 1. Connect your SD card to your computer.
Step 2. Right-click on the Start menu icon and open Disk Management.
Step 3. Check if your SD card shows the correct capacity in Disk Management. If there are two partitions, delete the one behind.
Step 4. Then. right-click on the former volume and choose "Extend Volume."
However, some users may find the SD card is using FAT32 or exFAT, which is restricted by Windows from extending. In that case, you'll need a third-party disk manager tool like EaseUS Partition Master Free.
This tool breaks the Windows limitations, allowing you to manage partitions without obstacles. With its powerful feature, you can merge two partitions without losing data on it. Follow the steps here to merge two partitions:
Step 1. Connect the SD card to PC and launch EaseUS Partition Master.
Step 2. Right-click on the first partition of your SD card and select "Merge." (Make sure they are using the same formats.)
Step 3. Tick the other partition to merge both partitions.
Step 4. Click "OK" and perform the task.
