Because of COVID-19, many people need to make their presentations online. And most of them will need to do so during a Zoom meeting. To view it again later, people may need to record presentations on Zoom. Hence, we write this article to show you exactly how to record a presentation on zoom.

Because of COVID-19 and the development of technology, more and more people are telecommuting remotely, Zoom is becoming more and more commonly used. And the recording of a presentation with Zoom is also a trendy need.

Although you have all of Zoom's presentation tools at your disposal, the settings in it can be tricky sometimes. That's why we give you this tutorial to show you in detail how to make the settings and how to record a presentation on your own.

Prerequisites for Recordings

To record a presentation with Zoom, you need to be qualified to use this function first. But there are no tough standards. All you need are the two things below. Getting them is not difficult, but you need to check on them before you record a presentation. Otherwise, it may lead to failure.

  • Basic (Free) account or above;
  • Zoom desktop client for Windows, macOS, or Linux, version 2.0 or higher.

Part 1. How to Record a Presentation on Zoom

Since you may make your presentation with PowerPoint, you'd better open the slideshow and complete the settings before. Here in this part, we will show you how to do so in the PowerPoint step-by-step.

But only making changes in PowerPoint is not enough, you also need to change Zoom settings to a status that is suitable for recording. That's the second thing we will show you in this part. And after that, we will give you a tutorial on how to record your presentation in Zoom.

Complete Settings in PowerPoint (Optional)

If you need to present with a slideshow in PowerPoint, you need to follow the steps below to change the settings in PowerPoint. This is to make sure that the recording procedure won't be jammed due to inappropriate system settings.

Step 1. Open the PowerPoint file, click "Slide Show", and click "Set Up Slide Show".

Step 2. Since the full-screen mode can make a recording with Zoom more difficult, you may avoid it by clicking "Browsed by an individual (window)" under "Show Type".

Step 3. Click "OK" and start the slideshow.

Now that you have completed the settings in PowerPoint, you may start setting Zoom.

Complete Settings in Zoom

Although we all want to do the same thing - record a presentation in Zoom, different people may have different demands in doing it. For instance, some people need to show themselves in the picture when making the presentation, some people don't want to. Or, some people need to record their voices to explain their thoughts, but some others choose to mark important information instead.

To make sure you can record without accident, you need to make some settings in Zoom too. This is quite simple, just follow the tutorial below.

Step 1. Open Zoom, browse your profile, click "Settings" and then "Recordings". Be sure that "Local Recordings" is on.

Step 2. Click on "New Meeting", and a video conference will begin.

Step 3. If you are asked to choose an audio conference option, click "Join with Computer Audio". In the lower-left corner of the window, you can see an upward triangle symbol next to the "Mute" button, click on it to open audio options. Then you can select your recording microphone.

Step 4. If you need to record your face, please ensure your webcam is on.
