Ideally, from a user perspective, you do not have to create a restore point regularly, except for installing applications that you might be aware of as potentially unsafe to the OS. Even if a system restore point is made. There are no guidelines for how frequently system restore points should be manually created. It all relies on the user's computer usage habits.

This is because Windows handles restore points automatically, like how it handles virtual memory, sometimes known as swap-drive space. In two situations, a restore point is generated automatically.

  • When a user installs software on a computer.
  • When a user modifies settings on a computer.

This gives you the option to go back and restore everything as it was before the changes were made.

But sometimes, you will encounter the Windows restore point not working issue when you try to restore the OS on your computer. At this time, it will be a tragedy for you if you have no other countermeasures. Under such circumstances, you can try to use EaseUS Todo Backup.

EaseUS Todo Backup is a practical, multi-functional backup and recovery tool for Windows 11/10/8/7. It allows you to back up your operating system and restore the system image on your computer when something goes wrong with your computer. In addition, it enables you to create an iso image from your existing operating system and back up files, disks, partitions, etc. Furthermore, it offers you 250G free cloud storage, thus enabling you to store your essential data and backups.

There is no exact answer to how often you should create a system restore point because your computer will automatically finish it. But, sometimes, the system restore point will fail to work. Therefore, using a third-party tool is a better choice.
