I'm planning to replace my computer's hard drive with a new SSD from my brother. He told me that I could use Acronis True Image to clone my hard drive to the SSD without effort. But I haven't used this tool before. Do you know how to use it to clone my hard drive?

Using Acronis True Image to clone a hard drive, follow these steps:

  • Download and install Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office on your computer.
  • Install the new SSD or HDD on your computer as the target disk.
  • Launch Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office, click "TOOLS" from the left panel, then choose "Clone Disk."
  • On the "Clone Mode" option, choose "Automatic" or "Manual" mode based on your needs., and click "Next."
  • Select the hard drive you want to clone under the "Source Disk" option, then click "Next."
  • Select the SSD or HDD as the target disk under the "Destination Disk" option, and tap "Next."
  • Check whether the settings suit your needs, and then click "Proceed" to start the hard drive cloning and wait for it to finish.

When you need to use the clone SSD or HDD on the currently used computer, you need to turn off the PC, replace the old hard drive with the new one, then turn on the PC again.
