Help, How Can I Force Uninstall A Program That Won't Uninstall

I got an adware virus (Funndeals) which cannot be uninstalled from the control panel. If I click on 'Uninstall' it doesn't do anything at all. I have tried uninstalling different non-malicious programs and they work. Is there any way to force uninstall these programs?

Some Windows pre-installed programs do not allow us to uninstall them. In addition, the uninstall button is grayed out for some other programs that may also appear. I have also encountered the same situation. Therefore, this article guides you on how to force uninstall a program that cannot be uninstalled in Windows 10.

Method 1. EaseTodo PCTrans Force Uninstallation

EaseUS Todo PCTrans can force uninstall the software you want to uninstall without damaging your computer. It identifies and removes programs on the user's computer but not in the list of installed programs.

Support Windows 11/10/8/7

The tool has a simple and easy-to-use interface:

Step 1. Download and launch EaseUS Todo PCTrans and click "Start" in the "App Management" screen.

Step 2. You can see all the programs on your PC, select the target program, and click Uninstall on the right side.

Step 3. You can also expand the triangle icon and fix the problematic programs.

Method 2. Use Windows built-in tools

Windows also provides some other methods to help you force uninstall software:

  • Use the vendor uninstaller tool - locate and run uninstaller.exe or uninstall.exe in the program's installation folder.
  • Use Safe Mode - Safe Mode can help you avoid third-party interference.
  • Use Registry Editor - Removing the program from the registry can also force uninstallation of the software.
