I want to use my old laptop Win7 Pro which was installed with my MBR partition. I want to use this on my new laptop that only supports UEFI boot. I want to get the old Win7 disk to boot on the new laptop since I plan to add an M2 SSD. I'm hoping somebody out there has done this and could help me.

Yes, you can convert Windows 7 boot disk from MBR to GPT. Windows has two built-in tools - Disk Management and the Diskpart of Command Prompt, which can help you convert the partition style between MBR and GPT. However, this former will delete all your reserved partitions, while the latter will wipe all the data on the MBR disk before converting. This article will give you an effective way to convert MBR to GPT without a fresh install of Windows 7.
