My C drive is running out of space. I have a lot of important programs on it that I can't get rid of. I noticed that my D: drive is still empty. By the way, I have an empty D drive of 418 GB. How can I make this work?

Why my C drive is full while my D drive is empty? The C drive is full for various reasons, including too much software installation and improper partition size allocation. Since the operating system is installed on the C drive, insufficient space on the C drive will lag behind the computer's performance. Luckily, I will offer two practical solutions to help you escape this.

Solution 1: Merge C and D Drive

The best and most straightforward solution to "C drive is full, but D drive is still empty Windows 10" is to merge C and D drives. If you want to make this process simple and quick, you'd better turn to a powerful partition manager software for help to avoid any file loss or system errors. I highly recommend EaseUS Partition Master, which provides a tool called Partition Manager that can help you efficiently merge two drives.

Install EaseUS Partition Master and learn the simple steps as follows:

Step 1. Run EaseUS Partition Master and right-click on the C drive to select "Merge."

Step 2. Select a neighbor drive to merge, and click "OK" to continue.

Step 3. Click the "Execute Task" and "Apply" to confirm the merge process.

Solution 2: Extend C Drive with Unallocated Space

The second way is to use or create unallocated space for the C drive, which EaseUS Partition Master can lend you a hand. If you already have plenty of unallocated space on your disk. Be aware that you can only adjust the unallocated space when it is adjacent to and behind the C drive. If your D drive is empty, you can delete it to create unallocated space for the C drive. Here is how to do it:

Step 1. Launch EaseUS Partition Master and enter "Partition Manager."

Step 2. Right-click on D drive and choose "Delete."

Step 3. Click "Yes" > "Execute xx Task" > "Apply" to confirm the deletion.

Step 4. Right-click C dive, choose "Resize," and drag the right end of C drive to extend space.

Step 5. Click "Yes" > "Execute xx Task" > "Apply" to confirm the extension.

If your C drive is full and already received a low disk warning, try the "Adjust with 1-Click" of EaseUS Partition Master following the guide below:
