How to Fix Internet Recovery for Mac Not Working

Hey, I followed the support suggestions to erase my HD on my Macbook Pro laptop. But now, when I try to restart it and reinstall the macOS by holding Command and R, it goes into the internet recovery and then just fails. Can anybody help me?

If you see the error message stating that Internet recovery for Mac not working, you may have entered this mode improperly. You can try this method as follows. but make sure you have enough time.

  • Step 1. You need to click on the Apple logo and choose "Restart" from the menu.
  • Step 2. At the same time, hold option + Command + R before the Apple logo shows up.
  • Step 3. Keep holding these keys when you see "Starting Internet Recovery; this may take a while".
  • Step 4. Now, wait for the recovery system to download.
  • Step 5. When the download is finished, the OS C utilities window appears.
  • Step 6. You can choose "Reinstall OS" and wait until the process ends.

If this method does not work, you can try resetting PRAM/NVRAM like this:

  • Step 1. Turn off your Mac. Press your Power button.
  • Step 2. Now, hold Command + Option + P + R simultaneously just after you press the power button.
  • Step 3. Hold them for about 20 seconds, and then release them.
