So, I uninstalled Wallpaper Engine because I don't use it frequently so I did it through Steam. But after I boot up my PC again, the Wallpaper Engine is still running. I checked Steam, but it was uninstalled, and it's not in Task Manager either. So, I checked the installation folder and it is still in there. I tried to delete it, but it says I can't because it is getting used in other processes. Does anyone know how to uninstall Wallpaper Engine completely from my PC? Thanks!
You may be unable to uninstall Wallpaper Engine because it's still running in the background, antivirus software might be blocking the uninstallation process, or there might be residual files or registry keys causing issues.
Before uninstalling Wallpaper Engine, make sure you quit the process in Task Manager (Press "Shift" + "Ctrl" + "Esc" to open it) and no related programs are running in the background. Then, open Steam and uninstall it again.
If you have already tried this, go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\wallpaper_engine, delete everything in it, and then try to uninstall it again.
If both above methods don't help, check below.
To completely uninstall Wallpaper Engine from your PC, you might need a third-party program uninstaller like EaseUS Todo PCTrans Free to remove all its related files from your PC.
Step 1. Open EaseUS Todo PCTrans.
