I purchased the WD BLACK SN750 NVMe SSD with a heatsink. When I'm not doing anything, its temp is around 56 C. After I played RDR 2 for over 1 hour, it was 71 C. Is it still a regular temp? What temperature should I start worrying about?
Typically, SSDs are allowed to operate at temperatures up to 70 degrees Celsius. For some industrial-grade operating temperature ratings of ATP NVMe SSDs, it provides stable performance even at temperature extremes of -40°C to 85°C. Different brands may offer different SSD temperature ranges.
WD's recommended maximum operating temperature for NVMe is 72°C. If your SSD has reached 71 degrees Celsius, you have reached a relatively hot situation. But it's not hot enough to cause extreme concern.

The SSD should be between 40 and 50 degrees Celsius when it's not in use. If it exceeds this temperature, you need to investigate the cause of the problem. So how do you monitor the temperature of an NVMe SSD?
Fortunately, we offer a great tool for managing SSD health and performance: EaseUS Partition Master Free. It can effectively look at the SSD temperature and initiates alerts when the SSD gets too hot.
Here's how to check NVMe temperature using EaseUS Partition Master:
Step 1. Start EaseUS Partition Master and activate the Disk Health function under Discovery.
Step 2. Select the target disk and click Refresh. You will be able to see the temperature of the drive.

You will get different alerts if the temperature is too high or too low. Then you can optimize the NVMe SSD for different conditions.
