If I Upgrade to Windows 11 Will It Delete All My Files?

My computer keeps reminding me to upgrade to Windows 11 recently. But I haven't done this before. So I am wondering if the process will erase all my files saved on the computer. Any advice?

In general, upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11 will not remove or wipe your computer's saved files. However, if you are concerned about the safety of your files and data, creating a backup is a safer option. After all, no one can guarantee complete safety throughout the update procedure.

How do you create a backup of all your files? EaseUS Todo Backup Free is the preferred backup solution for 85% of Windows users. It is a professional backup software that allows you to back up files, disks, systems, and even APP data with a few clicks.

It allows you to back up a specific folder, create a system image, clone a hard drive, and create an emergency bootable USB if your device is unable to boot. Design with a simple user interface; both novices and experts may complete the task with no prior computer experience.

Now, download this powerful utility and add an extra layer of security to your computer before upgrading. Backups allow you to restore all files, even if you lose data during the upgrade process.

  • Step 1. Launch EaseUS Todo Backup and click Create Backup.
  • Step 2. Select File or OS as the backup source, and click Next.
  • Step 3. Choose a location where you want to save the backups. It is suggested to store backups on an external hard drive.
  • Step 4. Click Backup Now to start the backup progress.

The time it takes to backup relies on how much data, which usually lasts from several seconds to several minutes.
