Is It Possible to Transfer Data From Your Old SSD to New SSD Using a USB Drive?

My old SSD doesn't have enough space for my games, and now I want to buy a new one. I'm planning to use a USB drive to transfer all the data, including all my installed games, from the old SSD to the new one. Is it possible to manage that? Thanks in advance.

Yes, it is possible to transfer data from an old SSD to a new SSD using a USB drive as an intermediary. You can copy all the data from the old SSD to your flash drive, then install a new SSD and move the data from the USB drive to it.

However, you should be aware that using a USB drive to transfer data may not be the most convenient option. Games nowadays are huge in size, and a USB drive might not be able to contain them all. The transferring process could also be super slow.

Thus, you can attach both SSD at the same time or buy a USB cable that connects the new SSD as an external disk. After that, you can use clone software like EaseUS Disk Copy to clone the old SSD to the new one.

It can help you transfer data from one hard drive to another and has the ability to clone a hard drive to a USB flash drive, systems, and partitions to meet your different cloning needs.

Below is a how-to-do guide:

Note: Back up the old SSD before cloning to prevent data loss.

Step 1. Set up EaseUS Disk Copy and select the SSD that you want to clone in "Disk Mode".

Step 2. Select the target SSD. (A warning message tells you that the data on the target SSD will be erased. If the destination SSD does not have any important data, click "OK" to proceed.)

Step 3. Adjust the disk layout and select "Proceed". (As the target is an SSD, better tick "Check the option if the target is SSD".)

Step 4. Wait for the process to finish.

Now, you have transferred data from your old SSD to new SSD. If you want to learn more about clone SSD to SSD, you can read and discover in the following link:
