Why Can't I Open Disk Management

Hello! I was trying to extend my C drive with Disk Management today but only to find it won't open. My screen flickered after I clicked Disk Management, and the utility didn't open. Tried rebooting my computer, but it didn't help. Why can't I open Disk Management? Any help will be appreciated!

Many factors can prevent you from opening Disk Management, such as temporary bugs, program conflicts, damaged system files, outdated drivers, or virus or malware attacks.

To fix the "can't Disk Management" issue, you should first try removing all the newly connected devices and restart your PC to see if it works.

If not, try modifying the related configuration service:

Step 1. Press "Windows" + "R" to open the Run dialog and enter services.msc.

Step 2. In the Services window, find "Remote Access Auto Connection Manager" and "Remote Access Connection Manager" from the list.

Step 3. Right-click on them and choose "Properties." Then, set the Startup type as "Disabled" and apply the changes.

Step 4. Then, find "Virtual Disk" from the list and set its Startup type as Manual or Automatic.

Step 5. Reboot your computer and see if you can open Disk Management now.

If you have tried everything but still can't open Disk Management, you can resort to a third-party alternative like EaseUS Partition Master Professional, a reliable disk and partition manager.
